Candle care is important!

This is a 4-ounce glass jar container candle with a metal (gold colored) lid. These candles will last up to 20 hours and remain virtually smokeless and dripless if you follow the following: Trim wick to about ¼ inch. Let each burn last 3 hours (any more or less than this will affect the burn time negatively). Burn away from drafts and keep the wick trimmed. Always dunk the wick in the wax pool to extinguish it rather than blowing it out or snuffing it (a bobby pin or similar implement works well for this). Keep away from children and anything flammable. Always burn in holders on a fireproof surface. NEVER leave candles unattended.

A bit about wax: the mass amount of candles out there burn paraffin wax. Unlike the stuff of the bees, paraffin is petroleum-based and highly toxic when burned, releasing at least two known carcinogens into the air (benzene and toluene). Beeswax, on the other hand, is not only a sustainable source of illumination, it is also a purifying one. Burning beeswax taper candles releases negative ions that cleanse the air. The light they emit is also an essential ingredient to effective late-night conspiring. Plus, they smell like honey. Which is awesome.
